Our MD Kelvin Hopkins appointed as Vice-Chair of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising
Following the AGM of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising on 5th July, its trustee board appointed our very own Managing Director Kelvin Hopkins as its new Vice-Chair.
Kelvin joined the trustee board in March the previous year and will now serve for a three-year term in the role of Vice-Chair. Commenting on the appointment, he said:
“I am enormously honoured to take on this role with the Chartered Institute and look forward to help lead the organisation through its current turbulences, and hopefully on to a new and brighter future.”
“The Chartered Institute is loved by so many in the sector, but we cannot ignore the current criticism the organisation has faced over its past and present handling of allegations of sexual harassment; and working to create a safe, inclusive and transparent environment for its members, is the first priority.”
“The Chartered Institute has a central role to play in the fundraising community, and I want to ensure over the coming years that we create an organisation relevant to the current time, one that serves and is representative of the entirety of the membership - individuals, organisation and corporates – as well as all four nations.”
“Despite the many challenges, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with the Chartered Institute since joining the board and am excited to play such a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the organisation, and in the interests of the fundraising community, in the years to come.”
Kelvin is part of a fresh-leadership team at the CIoF, with Nadine Campbell appointed in the role of Interim Chair. The Chartered Institute is continuing its recruitment for a new and permanent CEO, a process that Kelvin has been responsible for following the resignation of the previous CEO in March and is also now beginning the search for a new and permanent Chair.
